The Power of Education: How Your Support Drives Our Mission
How can the mission and vision of The Chatfield Edge enable civil society to flourish and thrive? The answer: education.
As we look ahead to 2025, The Chatfield Edge’s reach continues to grow. To date, we’ve distributed over $100,000 in scholarships, supporting more than 50 students from the selection of postsecondary programs to their successful completion. Our students are pursuing a range of educational paths—from certifications in HVAC to degrees at institutions like Xavier University and Harvard University. A majority (32) are enrolled in four-year colleges or universities, and in just our second year, six students have already successfully completed their programs.
This progress would not be possible without your support.
In a recent article, The New York Times quotes Alexis de Tocqueville, who, in the 1830s, observed that the relative absence of hereditary institutions in the United States made education a crucial means through which citizens could rise in the world. “All that serves to fortify, to expand, and to embellish intelligence,” he wrote, “immediately acquires a great value.”
Thank you for all you’ve done—and continue to do—to help The Chatfield Edge spread the great value of education to first-generation and nontraditional students across our region.
It’s National Mentoring Month
Mentoring is key to The Chatfield Edge’s approach to supporting students as they attain post-secondary education. In just two years, nearly 20 mentors have volunteered to join us in our mission to uplift, guide, and support more than 50 scholars. We are grateful for their commitment and enthusiasm because we know it is making a difference.

Your Generosity is Impacting Lives
We are grateful for the generosity of our donors. With your help, we have provided $137,000 in scholarships to students in our first two years. This spring semester alone, we are providing more than $45,000 to students pursuing educational programs in trade schools, certificate programs, and colleges and universities.

We’re Growing and Need More Mentors!
In the spirit of National Mentoring Month, we would like to invite you to consider joining our team of volunteer mentors. With just 1-2 hours of your time each month, you can help a student stay on track, gain confidence, and change their life through education.
Many of our mentors tell us that they receive far more than they give and are excited to see their mentees reach their goals. We provide training and students who are ready to accept your support.
Save the Date for our Annual Celebrating Our Scholars Brunch
We are excited to announce April 12, 2025, as the date for our annual Celebrating Our Scholars Brunch. Please mark your calendar now and plan to join us at Ursuline Academy in Blue Ash. We know you will be inspired by the ways our scholars are achieving their educational goals amid challenges. You’ll also hear from the mentors who help them break down barriers and guide them to success.
