July 2025
FROM THE PRESIDENT
Wrapping Up & Looking Ahead
As we close out this fiscal year, we reflect with gratitude and pride. In just two years, The Chatfield Edge has grown from supporting 9 scholars to 80, expanded our mentorship team from 1 to 19, and increased scholarship and emergency aid from under $10,000 to nearly $173,000. These numbers represent more than growth—they represent lives changed, dreams reignited, and futures reclaimed.
Looking ahead, we’re doubling down on what works: deeper student support, a stronger emergency fund, and an expanded mentorship network. We’re also building new pathways for alumni to stay connected and give back.
This year, we didn’t just plant seeds—we saw them bloom. And with your continued support, we’ll keep cultivating success, one student at a time.
Thank you for believing in our mission and in the power
of second chances.
Robert P. Elmore, CPA
President, The Chatfield Edge

On April 12, 2025 more than twenty of the scholars we served this year attended the “Celebrating Our Scholars” brunch at Ursuline Academy. Each has a unique story and collectively they represent resilience and hope!
CELEBRATING OUR GRADUATES
Our Chatfield Edge Scholars enroll year-round in certificate, trade school, and college/university programs. The varying length of each program means we are celebrating graduations year-round! We are proud of and want to congratulate the individuals who have completed their educational pursuits since last July.

PRESERVING THE URSULINE LEGACY

The Ursuline Sisters of Brown County have left a lasting imprint on education and community life throughout Southwest Ohio. Their influence stretches from the founding of Ursuline Academy to their leadership in parish schools, charitable impact, and the founding of Chatfield College, now The Chatfield Edge. Whether serving in classrooms or guiding social service programs, these women have shaped generations for 180 years with their quiet strength, faith, and commitment to service.
To honor and preserve this remarkable legacy, The Chatfield Edge is producing a series of videos that will capture the Ursuline Sisters’ story — their deep roots, far-reaching impact, and the values that have built strong families and communities for more than a century. The short videos will reach back into the past while pointing to the future, showing how their spirit continues to live on through the students and missions they’ve inspired.
The total cost of this production is estimated to be $30,000. Your support at any level will ensure this story is recorded while it can still be told firsthand. Help us preserve the legacy of the Ursuline Sisters and share their powerful story with future generations.

CELEBRATING LEADERSHIP: WELCOMING NEW TRUSTEES AND HONORING A LEGACY

We are delighted to welcome Robert DeBlasis and Keith Kral to our Board of Trustees. At the same time, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kitty Strauss Rosenthal, who is retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Robert DeBlasis is a Partner at Kohnen & Patton LLP, where he brings deep expertise in civil litigation, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy law. With a strong background in business and law, Robert is known for his strategic thinking and commitment to community service.
Keith Kral joins the board with a wealth of financial leadership experience, including roles as Treasurer and Director at Child Focus, Inc., and as a senior executive in banking. His insights into finance and governance will be invaluable as we continue to grow and serve our mission.
As we welcome new leadership, we also honor the extraordinary contributions of Kitty Strauss Rosenthal. Kitty has served with distinction, bringing decades of leadership experience from her tenure as Vice President of the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. She has been a tireless advocate for small and mid-sized businesses and a passionate supporter of the arts, education, and community development. Her board service has included roles with the Cincinnati Ballet, Urban League, Ohio Cancer Research Associates, and Xavier University’s Williams College of Business, among many others.
Kitty’s wisdom, warmth, and unwavering dedication have left a lasting impact. We thank her for her years of service and wish her all the best in her well-earned retirement.
Please join us in welcoming Robert and Keith, and in celebrating Kitty’s remarkable legacy.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A SCHOLAR’S LIFE
In 2025-26, our goal is to support 75 NEW Chatfield Scholars through educational support, mentoring, and scholarships. We believe that education should be accessible to anyone who wants to pursue a brighter future. We also believe that our investment in our scholars will change communities.
