Scholar Spotlight: Ethan Kirk
When Ethan Kirk attended classes at the former Chatfield College through the College Credit Plus program, we knew he had a level of passion and drive that was unique for someone his age. He graduated from high school and entered Bowling Green State University (BGSU) as a junior.
Now two years later, at the young age of 19 years old, Ethan holds a bachelor’s degree and is on a path to become a leader in the field of resort and attraction management.
While at BGSU, Ethan was enrolled as a full-time student, worked 40 hours a week at a hotel, and completed two co-ops. The Chatfield Edge walked alongside him (actually, we had to run to keep up), providing mentoring and scholarship support. When an opportunity arose this spring for Ethan to do a study abroad program at a resort in Europe, we were able to provide close-the-gap funding to help him come closer to achieving his dreams.
Now a manager-in-training with Drury Hotels, Ethan is poised to take on an assistant general manager position with that hotel chain by the end of the summer. Learn more here about Ethan’s passion, work ethic, and drive toward success! Congratulations, Ethan!
Supporter Spotlight: Nick Wilmhoff
Eight years ago, Nick Wilmhoff and his business partner, James “JB” Kennedy, founded their print shop – Curative – in Cincinnati’s West End.
“It meant a lot to me that Chatfield trusted us with their printing,” Nick recalled. “We were just starting out, and their support gave us a strong foundation.”
When the college closed and construction of TQL Stadium transformed the neighborhood, Curative relocated to nearby Queensgate. But Nick’s connection to Chatfield didn’t end there. He followed the launch of The Chatfield Edge and felt compelled to support its mission.
